Self Cleaning litter boxes?

6 Answers  |  Asked By: Haleynorman   31

I’ve seen these litter boxes on T.V that “self-clean” so you don’t have to, but I dont know exactly how safe it would be. Has anyone ever tried one before? Let me know!

They are safe, it’s just a matter of finding out if your cat likes them and will use it or not.

There are quite a few brands to choose from as well.

They are self cleaning but every few weeks you have to clean it out! But it is very safe… So you should get one because it will save a lot of energy!

I think they are wonderful. I own two! Its so much easier now because no one likes to clean all that up and it also saves litter. Alot of litter. So I think it would be a good idea.

I forgot to mention, it is completely self cleaning. No hassle with litter or taking it apart to clean it out. The hood helps keep litter in still have the litter outside the box issue as you do with any other type litter box.

if you get one of the littermaid boxes make sure to get a litter that isn\\\’t clay based, they clog the machine. I have had my littermaid box for a few months and its just wonderful, it took a day or two for my cat to get use to the moving parts.
