I recently read that spraying bitter apple on plants/in a garden can keep cats away. Does anyone know if this is the same bitter apple spray used for dogs? Has anyone on catsdotcom used this?

Bitter apple will keep cats from chewing on your garden plants and perhaps the scent will repel a few of them, but it\\\’s not really a good repellant for cats (other than to discourage *chewing* - it\\\’s great on wires and things if you\\\’ve got a gnawer in the house).
As for keeping cats out of your garden, you\\\’d be better off with fox urine or similar.

Thank you. I am kind of out in the sticks. What stores would have either of those - for me to look when I make a 100-mile shopping trip (not quite so far out in the sticks)?

If I find some fox urine to give to my neighbor for his flower garden, what is the liklihood that he will gripe about the odor of that? Or is there any noticeable odor?

A Google search for "fox urine" turned up TONS of results for online merchants.

Thanks ziggy_bo. I really didn\\\’t want to be dragged to the 21st century, and will kick and scream all the way. But I guess if I have to go, I have to.
