I have no personal experience with the soft carriers. My opinion - for whatever it’s worth - is that it would be fine for cats who are ok with being transported. Perhaps that’s learned behavior, I don’t know. I personally feel better having my girls in the hard cases. They’re roomier for one thing and based on your pictures at least, the cat will be able to see out better.

Hiss is in need of a new carrier, when I went to Petsmart I found both of these. My only fear of the soft one is that she might tear the mesh at some point.. anyone have experience with the flexible carriers?

Thanks for answering this question. Here are the pros and cons for a flimsy and a traditional carrier. Traditional Carrier: Pros: Easy to use. Carrier doesn't wobble around when being held. Easy to clean. Cons: Seems like a cage to a cat. Not very comfortable. Here are the pros of the mesh carrier: Pros: Look good. Convenient. Cat feels more comfortable in it. Here are the con's of the mesh carrier: Very, very, very unstable Easy to rip Doesn't last long I would totally recommend a traditional carrier!

Thanks everyone, although I love the soft carrier, I think the kennel will be more roomier (good point john) and if she decided to move around alot while I’m carrying the soft carrier, it might just be more of a hassle. Thanks again everyone truely. I’m going to petsmart monday. So I’m glad I’ve gotten some answers

Well I personally like the hard tradtonal carriers better. The soft ones are just TOO flexible for my cats.

I prefer the soft carriers. It depends on your cats. My cousin has to use the hard. I’ve had both. My cats don’t scratch at the mesh.
