NEWS FLASH!!!

I was shocked and on the verge of tears when I read an article about tigers. We all now tigers are endangered, but what some of us do not know is that the number of tigers a hundred years ago was over 1,000,000, now, because of us, it is down to less than 5,000. And because of us taking their homes and habitat, they might be extinct in 10 years!

Also, an article about tigers in the Cat Fancy magazine says they are the second most endangered cat in the world, after the snow leopard. It also states that the Caspian, Bali and Javan subspecies of tiger are already extinct! And, their are only 1,500 bengal tigers left in India, and 750 to 1,200 Indochinese tigers left in Southeast Asia and China. The Sumatran is the smallest of all the subspecies of tigers, and there are only 400 left of them. There are only 330-370 siberian tigers, and the most sad of all, is the Chinese tiger, only 10-30 left in the wild.

It is sad what I’m telling you, but it has to come to people’s attentions what is happening to these beautiful creatures. They are the biggest of all cats, and the symbol of Asia, and it would be a tragic loss to have them gone. If we all work together we can save them, but if we pretend nothing is going wrong we could lose them in a blink of the eye.
