I have this male cat that just showed up at my house and I live on a farm. It didn’t seem to have any defense towards my cat Missi when it 1st arrived, but Missi and this cat are now getting along. The problem is there is other male cats that are strays that I think have been attacking him or something and I don’t want this to happen. What should I do about it?

Sounds like he is way outmatched by the other males (size, age and experience). And he will likely stay that way (possibly for years), especially if he has been declawed or neutered. You cannot give him fighting lessons, only another cat could. Unless you get it a cat door that only opens for him, there isn\\\’t much you can do other than turn him into a housecat - 24/7. At least it sounds smart enough to not allow itself to get seriously injured.

Something I have thought of, but never tried. If someone at your place is handy at building things, you could get him a cat house. Like a dog house, except the entrance way should be like a tunnel with a low ceiling (less than four inches) and six to eight inches front to back, and perhaps six inches wide. Plenty of room inside to lie down or stand up. This idea is based on some of my cats hiding under low cars, because it is harder to attack a cat under a car, but is easier to defend (against a single cat). The house would allow your cat to defend itself against five cats, because they could still advance on him only one at a time through his tunnel/entrance.

he probably has a disadvantage of some sort (no claws, authorities a disease) and he can be picked on. your only options are to make hi a house cat 24/7 or build that thingy that jpete said or get a dog to defend it
