2. pet your cat when it is mad.

3.give it food RIGHT AWAY when it is hungry. don’t let it wait.

4. cats LOVE cat-nip, so give it some! (if you have any)

I highly disagree with number one. Our cats absolutely adore my parents’ dog; every time we take them home for the holidays, they run wild with him all over the house and have a blast. I know far too many people in cat-dog households whose animals are either best buds or at least live quite peacefully to agree with that stereotype.

My cat loves one of my dogs too, but I know that is not always the case. He head-butts and cuddles with our female black lab mix but pretty much ignores our male dog.

I'm not bothered, per se. I just hate to see stereotypes like this perpetuated.

Our cats sleep curled up with our 3 German Shepherds and a Pit Bull. Cats and dogs can be wonderful friends! And why would you want to touch your cat when he’s mad? If I’m mad, I want time to chill out.

Certainly if you have a dog that's rough with cats, I would keep them apart but if they've been introduced correctly, they can be friends and at the least co-exist. Our ferals accepted our dogs before they did humans.

my cats get along with dogs….unless they are rambunctious. Not all cats like cat nip either, mine have no interest in it at all. I’ve only ever had one that did.

one of mine doesn't react to catnip, either. kittens also don't react to it.

Good point about the catnip. From http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/obedcat/a/catcatnip.htm: Very young and senior cats do not respond as much, or at all, to catnip. Also, 10-30% of the cat population does not respond to catnip at all, at any age. This is due to genetics -- reactions to catnip are hereditary. Some cats are genetically "programmed" to respond to catnip, some aren't.
