What’s going on?

5 Answers  |  Asked By: Mischief_cat123   677

Something wierd had been happeneing. Every day, I walk home from school and go through my back yard. Yesterday, under the trampoline, I found a huge wing. Yes, a WING. Just a big plain disembodied bird’s wing. Normaly this wouldn’t be unsual. Cats often don’t eat the wings from birds they catch because there’s no meat. But this wing is HUGE. The wing alone is larger then the birds they usually catch. Colouring: browny-grey with white stripes. Near the bottom it is streaked with russet. It’s about 8 inches long.
Then when I walked home today, in the yard was this wierd fur. Their were tufts of white fur scattered around the same area I found the wing. The fur is white and grey. It is about an inch long and very strait and coarse. I have no white haired cats or dogs.
What are these things? How the heck did they get in my yard? They definately don’t seem like things my cats could catch!

There could be possibility of your cat catching small preys like littler birds or mouse. You will need to obserav your pets. Do you have a dog? B’coz dogs too catch birds and small animals. Try to observe them . See what do they do. If they behave differntly, then something is really wrong. But it may be possible that they do not do this, Other animal can do it too. Even try to ask about this to your vet . He/she might give more info about they habits and behaviours. AS even i don’t know about this too much. It’s very unusual .

Ya, our cats catch smaller birds, but how does that explain the giant wing? We also have a dog, but she definately couldn't hunt. I have observed them. As far as I can tell, nothing's different.

Have you ever saw any other animal doing this? Does your dog stay outside at night?

I think the answer to this might be, quite possibly, that an injured large bird landed in you yard… strange, I know. Your cat may have attacked it and it may or may not have been able to get over the fence with both its wings. It could have fallen in the road and a texidermist happened to be driving by… I don’t know what to say about the wing. But, for the fur, I have a pretty reasonable answer. I think another cat probably came in your yard and the two cats fought. Check your cat for any scratches or things like that. I think that theory is most likely… ;)

If you say that your dog stays inside at night and your cat can’t do it. Then another animal or a cat from ouside must have come and done this. It may have got the bird from somewhere and at night it came to your yard and ate up leaving th wing in the yard. Try investigating in early morning. If you find the wing that time then posssibility is there of another animal doing this all.

Maybe your cat took down a big bird, like a red tailed hawk. There wings are about 8 or 9 inches long, andthe red tailed hawks are white brown and black. Your cat could have leaped into the hair and taken down the bird.
