Cats can hold a grudge for a while but they do typically get over it eventually if you put a little effort into repairing the relationship.
Give her some space for a few days instead of trying to approach her and she should calm down eventually. Once she is not so freaked out you can try being the one who feeds her every day, giving her treats she really likes, maybe give her a new cat toy. You\\\’ll have to go SLOWLY and be patient to re-gain her trust.
And obviously don\\\’t try putting a costume on her again. Some cats tolerate them okay but most cats really hate them. I don\\\’t think I\\\’ve ever seen a cat that actually liked wearing them. You\\\’d have better luck dressing up a tolerant dog who likes the attention it brings, though some of them hate costumes too. Really though, animals dont really need costumes.

Wow - that is a really long time. You should never leave your cat in a costume unsupervised. They may be "safe" enough to have them put on, but your cat could easily get caught on something and choke itself.

Some cats get really freaked out by costumes. They can be confining and irritating. With this kind of reaction, I would suggest not trying a costume again. How long was she stuck in the costume?
Your cat just needs time to get over it. Be extra lovey with her. Give her lots of treats and affection.

although she may run away from you now, you realy have to go slow and regain her trust. It may takee a while but you have learned a very important lesson. NEVER TO PUT COSTUMES ON CATS AGAIN!!!
Happy to help!

meowmiss said what you said \\\”run away from you\\\”, implying that your cat is staying out of your reach (not run away from home) so that you can\\\’t put another costume on her.
