This of course is just my opinion, but if you are going to abandon your cats because someone allergic, then I’m not sure you should have them in the first place. My cats are for life. Plain and simple. If my husband tomorrow asked me to choose, which of course he wouldn’t, I would choose the cats. When I took them as pets I committed to them for their life… not for just as long as they were convenient for me to have them.

As for reducing cat dander, the only thing you can do is bathe your cats weekly or bi-weekly and keep your home impeccably clean. You can also use an air purifier in the home.

The person you move in with will have to do the rest and take some sort of medication to block their allergic reaction.

I do hope you make the right choice and find a way to keep your cats.

there might be some shampoo for cats that get rid of dandruff

If you could rub baby oil through your cat’s fur, that might help keep the dandruff from reaching your friend. (The cat would be miserable, and you would have to find a way to keep her from licking herself, but at least you could keep her!)

Usually people who are alergic to cats are alergic to the cat spit. But I think you should keep your cats and try the baby oil thing.
