It could be an injury that she is not letting heal enough before using the leg again. (such as breaking a bone, and when it \\\’feels\\\’ ok, breaking the knitting (new bone) by using it too much) That is why doctors use casts for broken bones - otherwise people rebreak them. Or it could be a foreign object (glass or splinter) in her paw that she forgets about only to cause pain again when she steps on it just wrong.
