we have an outdoor cat (a stray that adopted us 6 yrs ago), her name is Gigi. the past two days she has had little to no interest in food or drink, that we provide for her. I have tried to put some water or milk on my finger and then rubbing it on her mouth; she only licks it but has no interest in drinking. she licks her mouth as though she is parched. can she by dehydrated?? I have given her tuna, freshly cooked chicken and also her cat food. She nibbles at it then walks away. she purrs and lays by my feet when I am outside….please help, she is a sweetheart! Thank you!!

Good for you for taking her in to be checked. It could be a number of things or it could be nothing. Hope everything turned out well.

Hello Kat, kytta, khushi and all the other cat lovers..... our outdoor cat does have an infection so we have her contained in the house (she is not to fond of this) but we have to give her antibiotics twice a day for 10 days and make sure she is eating and mainly taking in fluids. She ate just a little yesterday and seemed comfortable throughout the night. She has not eaten much today. When I get back home I will try to force feed her and give her water through a dropper if she has not done so on her own. I will put our other two indoor cats in a seperate part of the house and let her roam and stretch out for a couple hours tonight. Thank you again for your answers and support. chat with you soon! Have a great day!!
