should i worry so much?

2 Answers  |  Asked By: Camandnovababy   1

i just got a kitten and i love him sooo soo much he is literally like my new little best friend, He was young and semi feral when i got him and i am constantly worried about what could go wrong or if he is sick or if he can get sick? The urinary infection is what scares me the most. What precautions can i take so that i don’t have to worry AS much as i do. I Google everything he does to make sure its “normal”. he really is an amazing kitten and i just want him to be happy and healthy. He has been to the vet but he is still too young to get his shots but he did get dewormed. Any advice on keeping him happy and healthy. Oh and i know he loves me because he follows me everywhere but he doesn’t purr. Any thoughts?

The proper time to worry is - never. If he has a problem, you take care of the problem or get it taken care of (by a vet if necessary) at that time. The only purpose served by worrying is to get YOU attention. Plans and rules can prevent most problems. Plan to get the shots. Plan to learn more about cats. Plan what you will do if, for some reason, you have to leave suddenly for several days. Have rules - such as: the cat is never allowed to be in a position to escape outside, and is treated such that he never wants to escape. Most cats seem to take up purring when they feel very secure - as when sitting on your lap. I do have one feral cat (my ferals do not let me pet them) who started rubbing against my leg as a greeting, and started purring at that time. At 13 months old, she is a real purr machine - I can hear her ten feet away when she is napping with the other cats, but it seems to be mostly for me. Besides food, cats need security, attention, exercise, and stimulation (toys and companionship). Plan and prepare for what to do when your cat becomes bored.
