my kitten may be sick how do i know if he is really sick

4 Answers  |  Asked By: unicorns4angel   1

i just had my kitten elvis to the vet about 2 months ago for his first time visit .
yes we had to have him fixed and declawed, because of where we live at .
he has been very playful ever since. but lately with in the last week i have notice that all he wants to do is sleep all the time and he is very skiddish around my husband and my kids but he will come to me.

when he eats he eats very little like 2 or 3 bite of his food and he drinks only when i give him his water

when my husband nor my kids do it he crouches down and starts to shack
and then he goes and hides

should we be concern about this and take him back to the vet

A complete personality change is always cause for concern.

However, be aware, declawing often causes this change in cats as they are completely tramatized by the event. Having your toes amputated at the first knucle and then being forced to walk around on them anyway, seems like a darn good reason for a cat to turn into a fearful ball of fur to me.

I would definitely have him checked by the vet to rule out any medical conditions that could be causing this new behavior.
