First of all, I am SO sorry about your Dad!!! I lost my father 8 years ago, and it still hurts.
As far as your cat is concerned, it is entirely possible that your cat is picking up on the sadness in your home. Cats know when we don’t feel good, or if something is bothering us. They can sense when we need them. Let your cat help you through this difficult time, and once again, I am sorry for your loss!

I totally agree, and I give you a plus. I feel soo sad your cat dies, and if you think your cat feels depressed, it means it is mourning your father. Try giving your cat lots of extra love. Hope this helps. Once again, I am soo sad about your father.

im very sorry about your dad but cats grieve just like people do….give him some time and he’ll come around

I am very sorry to hear about your loss.
But I don’t think you can really do anything about your cat’s depression. Just cuddle it lots and try to make it feel happier by giving it extra attention.

thats sad… im sorry to hear about your loss. most animals pick up those things. they see you sad so they know something wrong happened. some cats may be close to that person they dont have to look around. give it attention but not to much or your cat well get use to it and be spoiled. other than that, thats pretty much it. i read a story that a stray cat got in to a nursing home. the cat stayed and cheered many people up! the nursing home was lively with a cat around. cats have very desriptive feelings. i’m know expert but cats teach a lot.
