Ok, I hope I help…this was taken from one of my earlier posts on diarrhea.

1. “Swaddle” the cat’s upper body and hold it firmly over a sink or tub.

2. Just put its bum right down in the sink.

3. Have a helper put on disposable gloves to get the feces out of its fur.

4. Then, rub the area with soap, we used kitten soap so it would be gentler. Or mix Dawn with water.

5. Just let the water wash off all the soap.

6. Wrap a clean towel around it…and then clean the sink.

Okay, first thing is to calm down. You said you feed Nutro food. There have been on-going problems with Nutro causing illness in cats and dogs, so you need to switch to a different brand. To stop the vomiting and diarrhea you need to stop feeding your cat for 24 hours (one whole day) and slowly reintroduce bland food like boiled, unsalted, unseasoned chicken. Then I would suggest start feeding small amounts of a new brand of food.

If it isn’t the Nutro this can also be the result of your cat eating something it can’t handle, such as dairy foods (most cats are lactose intolerant), table scraps, house plants, cleaners, and so forth, but even so you should stop feeding for 24 hours to give your cat’s digestive system time to rest and “reset” itself before you feed him again.

One thing you must do is stop the diarrhea and vomiting so that your cat does not become too dehydrated though. Try to encourage him to drink more water, maybe let the sink run a bit if he likes to drink from the faucet, or wet his paws so he will lick the water off.

To check for dehydration, you need to just pull the skin away from body at his scruff (back of the neck) slightly. If it snaps back quickly your cat is in good shape, but if it takes a few seconds to return to its proper shape, your cat is becoming dehydrated and you need to take it to the vet so it can be given a fluid injection under the skin or intravenous liquids. In this kind of situation, dehydration is the greatest threat to your cat, so don’t let him go too long like this. If the diarrhea/vomiting lasts more than a day, you will pretty much have to take your cat to the vet to be treated.

we do have a plant he likes 2 eat

kitty

If he has been eating the plant, this may be what is making him sick, so you should move the plant where he cannot reach it. This website has a list of plants that are toxic for cats: http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants.html

have you been feeding him wet canned food: if so thats probably wats hurting him. wet food all the time does this to ur cat all you need to do is if you are is to stop letting him eat wet food or you can give him half a can or you can give half an mix the rest of it with dry food for kittens or cats….. Thus should work if this is what happend but becareful get your cat cheked cuz if he keeps going at this rate culd cuase him to becum dehigdrated an probably die.. not a good thing… but yeah this shuld work tell me if it does it does take time to switch him over on foods but he shuld be ok!

nope i have been feeding him normal nutro max-cat dry food

Oh my gosh. That is the problem right there. If you feed him Nutro food, then that is already the wrong decision. To sum it up: Nutro brand has terrible stuff in its cat food. Switch immediately.

So, switch his food and take my steps on cleaning up, and poor little Sam should be fine.

OMG!! Nutro is very bad for cats. Lots of Nutro bags of cat food have been recalled. Switch to another food, such as Wellness of Science Diet.

ilovemycatsam10, PLEASE read catsofmany's post about her experience with Nutro - she nearly poisoned all of her animals with it! Don't make the same mistake: http://www.cats.com/question/cathealth/general/nutro-test-result-back/?search=nutro

ilovemycatsam10 said "HE" when referring to her cat. So... I think we can safely say he isn't pregnant! :-)
