The little white worms you are seeing in the poop are not “ring worms”. Ring worm is a fungal skin condition completly unrelated to worms at all.

Since you don’t know what type of worm your cat has, you can not just go out and buy a wormer and expect it to work. No inexpensive “store” wormers kill all types of worms. In fact, your cat likely has tapeworms and cheap store wormers will not kill them. So you will end up at the vets anyway and it was never cheap after all.

Do NOT use OTC wormers. They are not safe and can kill your cat. They don’t work very well. Remember, wormer is a pesticide, a poision, so don’t be cheap when buying it. Do what is safe and buy from your vet.

You will need a wormer from your vet to kill the worms. I recommend Drontal. You will also need to treat your cat with a flea treatment if it has tapeworms, because tape worms come from fleas. I recommend a Capstar pill to kill the fleas instantly and then Frontline Plus spot on to make sure your cat does not get infested again.

Good Luck!

I agree with Kat. It sounds like it might be tapeworm. Collect some samples and bring to the vet. And make sure your cat is treated for fleas, as they’re the source of infection.

Take them to the vets because that’s what they’re for. Helping your pets in wormy situations.

Go to a feed store and get Drontal plus USUALLY the only little white worms you see are tapeworms. Do you have a healthy cat? And you can get worms from your cat but it is unlikely.
Ring worm is not a worm at all really its a fungus.

The best thing to do is buy dewormer medicine to treat it. You can find dewormers in most stores, and it is available, and inexpensive. I get mine in capsules and powder, and you just mix the required amount into the cats main meal. You should determine the mass of your pet before treatment, as you probably know already his size. You should do it right away as it can cause ill health in your kitten. And ringworms and other worm species are not zoonotic, there is no way you can catch them from your kitten.
