Yes, if a cat spends time outdoors, particularly in high grasses or wooded areas, it will be susceptible to ticks.
Some symptoms that may indicate that a tick has hitched a ride on your cat are:
- Biting or scratching of areas of the body
- Lethargy
- Skin irritation
- Allergic reactions
A tick has an almost spiderlike appearance, with the body shape and size varying throughout the feeding process. They grow exponentially after feeding on your pet over several days. They are easier to spot then a flea, as they are larger and slow moving.
If you suspect that your cat has a tick infestation, it is always wise to check with your vet on treatment, particularly if your cat is exhibiting any odd symptoms.
Preventative measures are recommended with cats that will be outdoors. Monthly treatments are available to help keep ticks at bay.

yes and ticks look like a spider with a large body and small head they burro in under the skin .you cant just pull it off and call it good if you pull it off you risk snapping the head off witch will stay alive and keep burroing into the skin causing sikness and even death lime disease .if you enconter a tick dont just pull it off a drop of oil will make it back out so then you can remove the tick.also not recomended light a match blow out take the hot head of the match touch it to the tick and it will back out. if your cats go outside alot i suggest flea and tick repellant .

yes, cats do get ticks. ticks look like a little ball stuck to the cats skin. when it is crawling on the cat remove it immedialy. if a tick is already started to suck your cats blood, take tweeserz and carfully put it at where the tick is stuck, and pull fast. if you cat has a scab, put some cat moisterizer, or as i’ve learned neosporin works well.

Yes. Cats get ticks. Sometimes the ticks can be small, but oftentimes my cats have gotten BIG ones. Ticks look a blueish, grayish color, they usaully get them on their necks… So WATCH OUt! and use tick shampoo on the cat, or tick and flea powder. It really is a gross thing. My cats get them because they are outdoor pets, and spend their lives mostly ouside…so therefore they get ticks.

yes cats can get ticks and they are black and gray flea looking things. except they dont move. theyres only a few ways to kill them because they go under the skin and thats burning them off with a lighter. but if your not careful you could burn your cat. and you have to hold the cat down because if it moves you could burn him/her.

Of course cats get ticks! If they’re scratching, that’s a big sign. I advise you to check your cat if you and he/she have been in an area where ticks could possibly be. Some ticks carry a disease called Lyme Disease. And I know that there was a woman that got really sick and almost died from that disease.

Yes they do get ticks .They pick them up outside. Ticks look like big puffy balls. Don’t get them off yourself you could hurt the cat, ask your vet for tick preventive instead.

Cats are most certianly susceptible to ticks. There are many different types of ticks that vary in appearance. Generally they have a rounded body that can appear flat when they have not fed or like balloons when they are full. Unfortuanatley it is a little known fact that ticks can actually carry an almost fatal disease for cats called Cytoxosis (believe that is the correct spelling). It can be treated, but as I said before, is most often fatal. The sypmtoms are often lethargy, inability to eat or drink and sudden weight loss. There is treatment that can be given by your vet. I had a cat a few years back that was diagnosed with this. It took several weeks of vet visits and force feeding of pedialyte and watered down wet food, but he eventually got over it. I would definatley suggest a prevenative measure of giving your cat a monthly dose of Frontline. I use it every month now to prevent the problem. It also has the added benefit of preventing fleas and heartworms (which cats are often susceptible too). It is better to be safe than sorry and this is the most effective solution.

Yes cats can and do get ticks. They look like giant mutated fleas. They can be dangerous and they suck blood from animals. Don’t try to pull 1 out because they burry their heads in the skin and if U pull it out their head will stay enbedded in the skin. Try dabbing alcohale on them.

ok look, i dont know how old u r or wat medication ur on, but YES, cats do get ticks. im gonna make this short, cuz no one like anyone who carries on. but they look like spider then the fill up with blood and get round. all u have to do is take them off and squish them. tick powder will help in the areas he/she roams around.

All animals can get ticks. They are very small. Some are red (deer tick) while others are black. It all depends on where you live. There are other kinds but I\\\’m not sure. Most are just red and black though. Be very careful.
