If you can see ribs… the cat is to skiiny. But remember Cats are all different, just like humans and other animals.
A large built big boned cat will weigh more than a small boned petite cat. I have big and tall built cats that are a muscular and healthy 19 pounds… and on the other end of the scale I have a teeny tiny boned cat who weighs in at a meer 7 pounds yet she is at a healthy weight as well. Based on their individual body structures I could never compare them. It’s best to assess your cats weight by it’s body condition and not compared to other cats.
Here’s a chart to help you do that…

i think you should feed it canned fish and canned chicken flavor because most cats are attracted to canned foods, but not all cats like fish flavor. a normal weight for an adult cat should be 6-12 pounds, but 6 pound cats are sometimes kind of too skinny unless it is a toy oriental breed like a siamese toy or a toyger or ocelet

I think u should bring it to the vet and see if it has any internal problems and if evrything is good, a small can of cat food a day should be good, and some dry food after that.

i think you sould feed it some canned and dry food like you would do a normal cat. he is going to be okay, just feed him daily and if you want, tell a shelter about this cat. to find a shelter near you, you can go on google and type your zip and shelters or you can go to http://www.petfinder.com, put your zip and just find shelters.
