The most important thing for you to do right now is get mom cats spay appointment set up for when the kittens are 8 weeks old and weaned.

The second most important thing to feed mom the best food you can afford because she’s feeding a litter now, not just herself.

Plan on keeping the kittens with mom cat until they are at least 8 weeks. Don’t take them away any sooner as there is so much they need to learn from her and each other. 12 weeks is even better but most people who seperate them earlier are more worried about unloading the kittens while they are still cute than giving them the best chance at learning appropriate social and behavioral manners. Or they just don’t know kittens need at least 8 weeks minimum with thier littermates and mom.

You can touch the kittens as long as mom cat is ok with it. Starting at three weeks kittens should be handled daily. They should also start being offered canned food at 3 weeks. It’s easiest just to offer mom cat canned food and then the kittens will lern from her and join in. Start stocking up now, kittens eat a lot of canned food and I can’t stress the importance of proper nutrition in the early stages. It is after all the basis of the rest of thier lives.
