I think each pet owner (with the help of their vet) should decide based on their cats situation whether vaccinations would be beneficial or harmful to their cat. Vaccinations have both good and bad aspects and ALL of those aspects should be considered when deciding if your cat needs or does not need vaccinations.
For example, we have 13 indoor only cats who will never meet another cat or face the harmful things outdoor cats may come across. We have Tracy who has asthma and can not be vaccinated and we have Ebby who has allergic reactions to past vaccinations. Other problems have popped up with other cats here and there after vaccinations as well. Based on that info they face low/to no risk of infection and high chance of reation so we do not vaccinate them.
However, my husband has a shop cat who lives in his shop. She does meet other animals and does hunt when she wants to. She is also long haired and goes to the groomer a few times a year. She is moderate in her chances for infection, so we do vaccinate her.
Based on your cats situation, talk to your vat and make an educated decision for your circumstances.
