Stray Kittens and when can I take them home?

4 Answers  |  Asked By: Acting1   1

Stray cats had kittens (5) in my sister-in-laws garage, probably about two weeks ago. She is feeding the mother and I’ve been over to see them. Mommy cat allowed me to pet them,I have not picked any of them up yet, but I am planning on taking 2 home as pets. What would you say is the soonest I should take them? Keep in mind this is a stray Mommy who has not had any shots and the kittens are not currently protected. Thanks so much!

Wait until they are 8 weeks old as kittens really do need to stay with the mother cat until then to get the best benefits they can from mom.

you should let the cats stay until they act like they don\\\’t need mommy cat (gotten all help possible and outgrown her) anymore. i would estimate 2 months to 3 months until you can take your new kittens home.

Well make sure that the mom is feeding all of them equally if one isn\\\’t you probably could feed it catmilk (whiskas or any other brand) . but wait 7-8 weeks until you adopt it.

Get some baby formula and 5 bottles feed them the formula. the reason you give them formula is because its the same as breast milk from a mother and a cat.
