The best thing to feed the mother cat would be a high quality diet of grain free canned food, as much as she wants when ever she wants it. She is eating for a litter right now, not just herself.

the mother cat can go on eating regular food such as can food and dry food after she’s given birth to the new kittens. most of the time she won’t get up beause she has to constantly stay on guard with her babies. its thier instincts. you could just leave out dry or can food out for her to easily get. the mother cat will be fine getting up and eating after a few weeks.
congrats w/ the new kttens!

I prefer to feed the mother kitten food, because the kitten nutrients in the food, will reaach the kittens through the milk.

i think that you should feed her kitten food and normal food. not to much kitten food, that could affect her milk in a bad way.
