It is ok to hold and pet your kittens as soon as a week after their birth. The important part is not to compete with their mother for their affection. She will be very protective of them during this process. Try not to touch them while they are feeding and sleeping with their mother.

As for the eyes, a kittens eyes open as early as 6 days after their birth. The normal timeframe is 6 to 14 days after they’re born.

you can touch them, but only when theyre not eating or sleeping or anything. you can pet them, and even pick them up. one time, when i was in like 1st grade my cat had kittens and i played with them in the first month.

It’s ok to touch the kittens now as long as they are not sleeping or eating.Actually holding them is very, very important if you want them to get used to people. If you don’t hold them, they probably won’t let you hold them later on.

you should see if it is ok with the mom by petting the mom first, then petting the kitten, & if the mom doesn’t fight you, you can pick it up, but be very CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if u dont want to harm the kittens i suggest you leave them with their mothers until they’ re ABOUT 1 year old. it would be better because like that they get their mothers more nutritous milk so they can grow healthy.if u don’t want to do that you can go and buy kitten formula.the kits will open their eyes and FULLY see when their near 10 months old
