It might be fleas. If they are babies, you should wait until they\\\’re 8 weeks or older to give it a flea bath.

It could also be mites or an inexperienced mother. Motherhood among cats is something they learn through experience, whether it is their own experience, what they remember from being a kitten, or what they have seen other mother cats do. As such, the mother cat may be over grooming the kittens, trying to teach them the importance of grooming. In such a case, it can take weeks for the hair to start growing back.

Are they losing patches of fur and does it look kind of scaly and red? If so, it could be ringworm, especially if you got the kittens from ACC or a shelter that rescued them from outside somewhere. Trust me, if it looks anything like ringworm you\\\’ll want to get it fixed by a vet pronto– I adopted my cat from a rescue organization last November and we\\\’re STILL dealing with ringworm. Once it gets into your house it\\\’s hard to get rid of.
