It’s likely your cat has a Urinary Tract Infection and you need to make a trip to the vet.
Bloody urine is usually the first sign of a UTI.

Excessive thirst and excessive urination are usually the first signs of Kidney failure.

Either way, a trip to the vet is in order to confirm and treat the condition.

The symtpoms of kidney failure in a cat include:

Weight loss.
Reluctance to eat.
Increased urine production.
Altered drinking habits: increased thirst (resulting from increased urine production) may drive your cat to drink in unusal places
Gingivitis.
Vomiting.
Bad breath.
Poor coat condition.
Depression and lethargy.

Definitely get your cat to the vet. Kat is correct that blood in the urine is a sign of a UTI.

UTI’s can result in blockage that lead to renal failure in your cat, so getting them treated early is important.

Take your cat to the vet. Usually you will see blood in the urine and an awful odor. Many years ago we lost all of our male kittens because of this. They were too small to pass the stones that were present. I was a kid at the time so I’m not exactly sure what you would call this condition. Don’t panic this was back in 1965.

The safest tihng to do is to take your cat to the vet. Your vet will tell you what’s going on and how to treat it. I agree with Kittypaws and Kittylove about the period thing. My cat got her periods two weeks ago. It’s natural.

Your cat probly has it’s period because animals have periods too. see if itt’s lasts a week or so. if it doesn’t then go to the vet.

Cats do not have periods, they have heat cycles, and they do not normally bleed during these unlike dogs. If there is blood, it may be the result of infection and a trip to the vet is definitely in order.
