Your cat’s normal stool is brown and solid. Anything else should warrant close observation and a visit to the vet. Abnormal stools include: red and bloody, yellowish and slimy which indicates a bowel irritation, dark black indicates blood high in the intestines, yellow might mean a bacterial imbalance, and white indicates a severe bacterial imbalance or infection. Cats exhibiting soft, loose, cow-patty, runny, or liquid stools or no bowel control should be seen immediately by a vet.
