I have kittens that I bottle feed, but they are still under weight…
I have 5 baby kittens that are about 5 weeks old now. I took them to get weighed at the pet store near by, and they are saying that the kittens are under weight and under size for their age. How can I get them to the weight that they are supposed to be at? I am still feeding them with the bottle, and I feed them kitten food with warm water poured on it to soften it, and they eat that just fine, but they are not gaining weight! What do I do?????

It’s likely they need wormed. Most baby kittens that don’t gain weight suffer from worms. What happens is that the worms eat up the nutrition that the kittens need before the kittens body can absorb any of it. It is very important that you get this taken care of as soon as possible. There can be harmful repercussions for kittens who are malnourished early in life such as bone and joint problems.
You are going to have to contact a vet and get a wormer. Do NOT use OTC wormers. They are not safe and can kill your kittens. Not to mention they don’t work very well. Wormer is a pesticide, so don’t be cheap when buying it. Do what is safe and buy from your vet.
It’s also a good idea for you to get them checked by a vet anyway just to make sure there aren’t any other underlying conditions, other than worms, that could be causing the malnourishment. There are a lot of feline diseases that present with malnourishment, which could also be harmful to your other cat.

I was told that they can not have the worming medication until they are at least 1 1/2 pounds and they are only at 1 pound right now. And the pet store recommended a wormer medication for them, and it says 6 weeks of age on the bottle. So what do I do, they are 5 weeks and only a pound?

Personally, I would never give a kitten an OTC med. Especially one that is underweight. I mentioned before that there could be something other than worms causing the malnutrition, I think that is something you should really consider and have a vet evaluate. Are you keeping food infront of them constantly?

I took them to go get checked out and I was told that they just have worms. And that is all. But I can't seem to get them to gain the weight until they are old enough to get the medicine. They play a lot, run, jump, climb, and purr. So it's just the weight issue. They have food and water in front of them at all times.

I also meant to say that you should be feeding them 4 to 5 times a day with a canned food, or wet down dry if you must. Kittens should be permitted to eat asd much as they want whenever they want because they are growing so rapidly. They need constant calories to grow big and strong! :o)

Good... keep at that. Canned food usually entices them more so keep doing that and see if they aren't eating more. Watering down dry foods isn’t usually recommended because by adding in water you are taking up needed space that should be filled with nutritious calorie laden food. If you can feed them canned all the time... do that. It should help if there isn't some other underlying condition.
