I have been looking for the best method to wash my cat, can anyone provide an in depth response that will help me with product recommendations, amount of times a month i should bath my cat, and any tips or tricks that you know of to keep the cat in the tub if they are not a fan of water. Thanks a bunch.

Give the bath any way you like, but make sure you protect yourself by covering your body with padded clothes. The cat will scratch and make a fuss because they hate water.

I have been working in the cat bathing industry for 15 years, if you cant get your cat to a local groomer then this is the method that i recommend doing, in these steps:
Step 1: Place Cat in Bath
Step 2: Rinse Cat
Step 3: Shampoo your cat all over, watch the eyes though!
Step 4: Rinse the cat well, dont leave any suds on the cat, this could lead to dry skin.
Step 5: Dry your cat off good.
Step 6: Your Done! Congrats you have just successfully washed you cat!

Repeat steps 1-6 for any other cats in your household. I would recommend washing your cat every couple months or so, unless they get into something where you need to wash them right then and there.

Go to a local pet store and get a gentle cat shampoo, they make many that are easy on the eyes and skin, look for one of these.

Good luck!Source Link: Shampooing Your Cat
