I had excellent results with Eukanuba Hairball Remedy. Does she get constipated? I wouldnt use a laxative unless she\\\’s having problems with constipation.

I would NOT use milk. There are too many other things out there that work. If a cat is having blockage problems, Benefiber works great. 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. on food and adjust to more or less depending on the stools the cat produces.

If she is passing them, what is the problem? Whether they\\\\\\\’re vomited or passed through the bowels, the important thing is that they\\\\\\\’re out. What you want to do is prevent them from actually occurring. Maine Coons are furry lil guys - make sure you\\\\\\\’re grooming her frequently. I brush my longhair every day to help cut down on ingested hair. A food for skin/coat care may also help keep excess hair from breaking off & being ingested.

Good luck!! :)

I was told that milk is just about the perfect hairball remedy for cats.Cats are lactose intollerant and get diarrhea from milk. Whether it is from milk or a laxative, diarrhea causes loss of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients from the digestive system, and should not be caused on a daily basis. I have never had need for a hairball remedy for my cats (feral and outdoors). I would suggest trying the milk and if it works, let the rest of us know. Does your cat suffer from blockages?

Milk causes diarrhea, I would try olive oil or vegetable oil on her wet food, and make sure she is brushed and combed constantly!
