My cat is about 18mths old, been spayed and was a twin. Now she is much smaller and skinner than her sister, shes house trainned but recently, past month been going loo around house and also straining to poo and its liquidy when she does. I took her vets and they noticed theres a mass in her stomach which they say feels nodular and given us a weeks antibiotics and want to review after them shes recently wormed but she bolts her food down twice the speed of her sister then steals her food too. She seems happy and very affectionate. Just wanna ask you all of possible causes and seriousness that it might be?

A mass in her stomach plus the added symptom of straining to defecate & producing little liquid feces when she does sounds like some kind of blockage. She could have ingested something that she shouldn\\\’t have (yarn, a toy, a bird, etc.). One of my cats had this issue when she was about a year old - she had swallowed an entire package of ponytail holders. It could also be that she has some sort of tumor in her stomach. I\\\’m not sure why your vet gave her an antibiotic for a lump… That doesn\\\’t sound quite right. You might want to ask for an x-ray or ultrasound to try to determine what it is.

She might have a stomach twist like dogs……. Cats rarely have them but that might be whats causing the mass in her stomach….. Its caused by eating too fast or drinking too fast so try and get her too stop eating so fast and it will go away and she might just be a smaller boned cat so her sister may just be big for a cat or the perfect size and her sister might be the perfect size or small which ever way i don\\\’t know but the mass in her stomach is definetly a stomach twist.

A "twisted stomach" is when there are gasses building up in the stomach. This would not manifest as a lump.

It could also be a hernia, with intestines poking between muscles (it can be very serious). How long ago was she spayed?
