I won’t suggest any of the “prescription” foods because they’re all crap. And they’re certainly not suitable for long-term use.
What I would recommend if you need to do this is to find a supplement to be added to your cat’s food instead. Cats with urinary issues should be eating canned food, preferably grainfree canned food. It would be simple to add a supplement powder or pill to that type of food.

thank you for your answer to my question the vet recommends hills prescription diet food which i see you are not a fan of i was looking for alternative foods as this food is pretty expensive. the reason for the food is that my cat just had surgery to remove kidney stones and the diet is recommended for life. it is all very confusing to me again thank you for your help.

well thats just sad, i think you should feed you cat something healthy and lite you want somthing to calm their belly i hope things work out !! =)
