I have a 5 month old female kitten. She is usually very active and playful, but for 2 days now all she does is sleep she is very warm to touch, her pads are also very warm. My question is can I give her aspirin for the fever?

NO! Never give a cat an aspirin or any other medication that your vet did not recommend.
Cats can not metabolize medications the way humans and other animals do and it would destroy her kidneys.
If your cat isn’t well, it’s best to contact your vet for an appt.

Never give meds to your cat without checking with a vet first.
Aspirin toxicity (salicylate toxicity) is poisoning that occurs following the ingestion of aspirin or aspirin-containing products. Aspirin toxicity usually occurs because of the ingestion of improperly stored drugs or the administration of the incorrect dose of aspirin.
Cats are more susceptible to the effects of aspirin than are dogs because they are unable to metabolize the drug as quickly. Young animals are more susceptible to the toxic effects than are adult animals.
Aspirin toxicity may cause gastrointestinal problems, respiratory difficulties, neurological problems, bleeding disorders, and kidney failure. Gastrointestinal problems are common in dogs whereas central nervous system depression is most common in cats.

In contrast to dogs and humans, cats are typically given smaller doses at intervals of 48-72 hours. This drug, as with all drugs, should be only used under recommendation and 'monitoring' by your veterinarian.

My neighbor's cat was very ill one night. I suggested she take it to the vet but she decided to give it an aspirin instead. A couple hours later she called to say her cat had died.

No Never. Never give your cat any medicine which your vet didn’t told. If you think your cat isn’t well go to the vet . But never give any medicine without taking advise from vet. Some prove poisonous for animals like cats. Aspirin toxicity creates intestinal problems, respiratoy porblems and many others. Aspirins is not used to bring down your cats fever. If your cat has a fever take it to the vet

asprin is very dangerous to cats…..it could cause serious intestinal problems…if she doesnt get better in the next day or gets any worse i would take her to the vet….ive learned with cats its better to always assume the worst…cats hide their symptoms very well

You really should get her to the vet. If she has a fever she needs meds from your vet. She could possibly need fluids for dehydration.
