What is the best technique for putting medical ointments in a cats eye?
It’s really difficult to get him to sit still, let alone get near his eyes.

The best way to restrain your cat while administering eye drops or ointment is to wrap the cat snugly in a towel, with her head sticking out. Hold her head with one hand and gently lift the eyelid with the same hand. Use your other hand to place the ointment in her eye. Use only medications prescribed by your veterinarian.
Cats get “sleep” in their eyes just like humans do. This should be wiped away every day with a soft, damp cloth. If this becomes part of your grooming routine, your cat will be used to your handling its eye area, and administering drops and ointment won’t be nearly as difficult.

I like the idea of wrapping her up in a towel to administer meds…. I have a newly adopted cat and she has an ear infection. i will try this on her to see if it works!
