My cat has one cloudy but clear eye, what could this be?
The pupil is large and does not react to light. He seems to be doing ok but I just wonder what it could be a catarac maybe? HIs other eye is fine. I can’t afford to take him to the vets. It doesn’t seem to bother him

She’s a sweetie! My daughter just told me if I click on the picture, it will show the whole picture instead of half of her. New at this stuff!

It sounds like he’s blind in that eye. We have a cat like that and she gets along just fine with only one eye. As long as there is no discharge from the eye, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks everyone! She was a pet shop kitten that no one would buy. She sat in the cage waiting as all the kittens were bought and no one would even hold her. They sold all the kittens and we couldn't leave her there alone so we bought her. She actually ran into walls when we first brought her home because she hadn't been allowed out of the cage. Our vet said her brain needed to adjust to one eye and in time she would be fine. She is! She races to the top of the cat tree we have and hangs upside down by her back feet swinging like a monkey. So my husband nick named her Monkey even though her real name is Zannadu which means "God's Gift."

If it’s the inner eyelid then it is inflamed, probably due to an infection. You should take her to the vet for eyedrops, it will clear it right up.
It might also be she got something corrosive in her eye & her cornea is burned or irritated. A vet can check for that too, and will give you a salve to help it clear up & make it more comfortable It could be a cataract if it is cloudy like you said though.
