THIS QUESTION IS NOT BOUT CATS!! MY SISTERS HAMSTER IS 2 AND HER BACK legs dont work like they used to and she has diharea her name is eeyore and also she can barly open her eyes and one more thing her world is half time smaller then wat is was she stays on 1 side of her cage but this is my sisters hamster!!!! plez help!!!

Hamster’s lifespan is 2 to 3 years. We’ve had many that lived to be 3 and one that was 3 1/2. Chances are this hamster is older as pet shops don’t keep very good records of birth dates. I would take the poor thing to the vet. Diarrhea is not a good sign as well as the other symptoms. We have never been ones to let nature take it’s course. I would have a vet check her and if need be, have her put to sleep to end her suffering. If she is dying, it could take days and animals should not have to suffer like that.

I agree with my mom. I've had many hamsters in my life and this poor thing is suffering now. You can't force feed them or make them drink as they will choke. The best thing you can do is have a vet put her to sleep to end her suffering.

take her to the vet immediatly! i dont know what is wrong but something like that happened to my hampster and it died before we could take her to the vet. hurry, you need to take her to the vet.

2 years is old for a hamster. Most don’t live more than 2 years at all, it is probably just old age. Try to keep her comfortable and if she is suffering too much have the veterinarian humanely euthanize her.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hamsters do not have a terribly long life span; it sounds like she is nearing the end. The best thing you can do is make sure she is comfortable. :-(

well guys no need TO WORRY ANYMORE EEYORE DIED!!! 
SHE DIED JANUARY 15 09!! GUYS IF U HAVE A HAMSTER U WILL NO THEY ARE DYING CAUSE THEY WILL START SQUEKIN AND GASP FOR AIR THEN PASS AWAY! AND THE WORST IS THAT SHE DIED ON MY MOM BROTHERS BIRHTDAY!!!!!!!! :( ~KIBAGIRL1
