Every once in a while we will catch a whiff of what we think of as gas. We do not hear anything, but it smells! Either it was our cat or one of us will not admit to it. If it is our cat, what should we do or more important is it normal?

Gas happens… to all of us, and all of our critters!
I wouldn’t worry about it unless it got excessive - then you might want to consider his diet. It may be of a lower quality or contain something that he is allergic to.

Yeah, gas just happens to everyone! I've heard my kitty pass gas once.

I have 30 cats and none of them have ever passed gas.
First it is very important to be sure that parasites are not present. Coccidia and giardia are also possibilities.
Food sensitivities or allergies are sometimes present.
Check the fiber content in the food. Sometimes a higher fiber is needed.

i didn’t think cats passed gas til i got Oliver. Every once in awhile out of nowhere i’ll smell this horrible smell that will come and go just like…. well…a fart. It’s always when he’s sitting next to me so i just assume it’s him passing gas. His are silent too,you don’t hear em but you definetly smell them. Dogs pass gas so i don’t think that it’s bad if a cat passes gas,i think it’s probably normal.
