tooth infection: the ting you should look is for brown theeth and the gum is to much red.

your ct does have a tooth infection even i have a cat with the same problem when i consulted the vet the vet told me that it has a tooth infection

no need of brushing if you want to brush your cat brush its nose and ears the mell will finish

Cats should never have any bad breath exept tuna breath, so if your cats breath is really bad it probaly has a infection or cavity. Take your cat to the vet.
