My cat Knightley came home today (from hunting) and half of his ear was floppy. It seems to hurt him when I pet it (yes he lets me pet his ears) and there dosn’t seem to be anything wrong inside his ear. So I was wondering if anyone knows what happened or how to cure it? Thanks!

I would have a vet check him. He may need an anti-biotic. There\\\’s no telling what he tangled with and what that animal may pass on to him. My neighbors cat was bitten in the tail and ended up with a horrible infection. Has he had all of his shots?

One of my cats has numerous nicks on the edges of her ears (as far as I can tell, from fighting off roving ferals). At first glance, they appeared to be from bites, except she seems to get them at the same time she gets the scratches on her nose. Fortunately, no damage except for the nicks. But cats have a lot of muscles for holding and moving the ears. I would guess that Knightley was clawed and one or two muscles injured to the point of being painful to use. I would keep a close eye on the ear to make sure no infection developes, but otherwise let it heal on its own. Most animals have healing abilities that most humans would call remarkable or even miraculous.

it may have been when hunting as you said he could have been bit or something of that kind as of being scratched or something i think it could be a good reason……:)
