why do cats eat cat food in stead of dog food???

Because cats have very special dietary needs. They are obligate carnivores that can only derive nutrition from meat sources. Dogs are omnivores and can eat a lot like a human can. Cats also need taurine, or they will go blind and their hearts will fail. Never feed a cat dog food.

DONT FEED YOUR CAT DOG FOOD. it is obviously made for DOGS, not cats. dogs are omnivores (eat meat AND plants), and cats are carnevores (ONLY eat meat). Also, other things like sugar content, fat content, etc. Cats dont process these things the same way that dogs do. Please only feed your cat the right food.

One day I was reading some facts about cats and it said that cats need more protein than dogs.

I think it’s because cat food is specially formulated for cats taste and needs. I know what you mean though, I tried to feed my cats dog food to see if they liked it, and it was a no go, even though it was wet food!

My cat likes dog food better than cat food! I try not to let her have any, but she eats the leftovers out of my dog’s bowl.
