what does your cat like better, fresh or dried catnip?
i got my cat some fresh catnip at this farmers market but he doesn’t seem to like it as much as the dried stuff we get at the pet store. why? and which do your cats like better?

Next time you have some fresh catnip, take a leaf and crush it by rolling it between thumb and fingers. That helps release the odor which is otherwise trapped in the leaf. The fresh leaf is like a sponge, holding the odor in. The dried leaf is like a sheet of plastic trying to hold on to a liquid. The liquid (odor) readily escapes. Also, the farmers\\\’ market may have had catmint instead of catnip, without realizing there is a difference.

well cat nip is sometimes unaffective in some cats and the fresh or dried thing i never got fresh soooo i have no answer except for there is no ifference i think

My cats have never really been interested in the fresh kind, either. They absolutely LOVE the dried kind - they\\\’ll eat it & roll around in it, and any toy that\\\’s been rubbed down with it is their new favorite toy for the day. I\\\’m not sure why that is, though.
