It is true that cats are meat eaters, but if you let them eat a little grass every now & then it’ll help digest hair-balls. P.S. they have to swallow all the hair they lick up, so brushing and a little grass will help! :)

Other than the partially-digested vegetation in the stomachs of the rodents and birds they eat and maybe a nibble of grass here and there as a digestive, no they don’t, at least not in their natural state.

A lot of cat food brands contain a lot of grain plants like corn and rice but this isn’t a natural diet and is done as a cheap way of increasing the amount of protein content they can list on the label of the food (especially any kind of “gluten” ingredients) and this kind of diet is related to problems like obesity and diabetes, especially in older cats, plus many cats are actually allergic to these plant proteins and end up itching and shedding a lot or vomiting often.

Cats are actually what’s known as “obligate carnivores” which means they MUST eat a diet of meat and can’t survive without meat. Dogs by comparison are fairly omnivorous and even wild foxes and wolves supplement their diet with wild berries or fruit if its available. Cats on the other hand don’t process carbohydrates (sugars) very well at all and designed by mother nature to get the bulk of their energy from food in the form of protein.

If your cat eats the occasional bit of cooked broccoli or carrot or somesuch, it probably won’t hurt it though. You should never let your cat eat onions or garlic or any kind of food like soup or baby food that has onions or garlic, both of these vegetables are toxic to cats.

Cats are carnivorous
that means they only eat meat
cat food tricks them because it taste like meat.
but cats need grass. I heard it helps their digestion.
So if you have an inside cat keep a pot of grass inside.

Cats can go blind when not being able to eat meat for long peroids of time. They are meat eaters and prefer meat.If you dont like giving them meat maybe try calling your vet and asking for some ideas.I hope this helps.
