This summer I adopted a persian. It was from a shelter where, I think, it didn’t get the grooming it needs. After combing it daily, I saw some improvment in the fur. However, it seems a bit dry. Can anybody reccomend a wet cat food that is helpful to it’s coat?

I had this same problem with my Maine Coon. A good wet cat food to help its fur is Science Diet. My cats shine returned in about a month!! Since Science Diet is one of the more pricey brands, I suggest you go to http://www.feedingisbelieving.com/believe/couponRegistrationForm.jsp. You might want to take a look at what the AAFCO say should be in your cat’s food. A High quality food is better for your cat. Be sure you food contains all nutrition and is high in protine.

You want to look for a food that is high in fat and protein, real-meat-based (not “by-product”) and grain-free. If your cat’s coat is dry and patchy it may be due to a mild grain or soy intolerance or allergy and eliminating grain and soy from your cat’s diet may help a lot.
I know of a few brands that are grain free including Wellness and Evo (but these are not cheap brands, so it will depend on how much you are willing to spend). I think there are one or two “flavors” of Fancy Feast that are grain free though most are not, you will have to read labels.

if you want a wet food that is good for its fur,and real meat based,you should try tuna flavored fancy feast =.my cat has all kinds of it. they also have it in chichen and gravy,and more.i am just tired.
