Your cat likey has worms. No matter how much it eats the worm steals all the nutrients from the gut before the cat gets any.

You will need a wormer from your vet to kill the worms. I recommend Drontal. You will also need to treat your cat with a flea treatment if the cat has tapeworms, because tapeworms come from eating fleas. I recommend a Capstar pill to kill the fleas instantly and then Frontline Plus spot on to make sure your cat does not get infested again.

Do NOT use OTC wormers. They are not safe and can kill your cat. Not to mention they don’t work very well. Wormer is a pesticide, so don’t be cheap when buying it. Do what is safe and buy from your vet.

Your cat could have worms, and here is the kind it might be and what to do:

ROUNDWORMS:roundworms live in the stomache and intestaintes and feed on digested food in a cats gut.An adult cat may show no signs of having worms, but occasianlly mature worms may be passed,or eggs may be detecable in feces. Kittens can be infected via their mothers milk and become seriously weakend.symotoms of a severe roundworm infestion include diarrea, constapaiton, anemia,a potbellied apperance, and loss of weight and condision.
WORMING:
There are many worming preparations. It si inportant to obtain the correct remady for the type of parasite infesting your cat.worming medicine may be givien in a form of a paste, withch can be added to food or givien derrectly by mouth. When given pills, make sure that your pet swallows them and does not spit them out.some pills may be only for roundworms, while others may kill a veriety of paracites. Try conceling a worming tablet in a small piece of food.

Hope that helped,
