Kittens should be started on real food during the weaning process, which usually begins at about 4 to 6 weeks. You can often offer canned food as early as 3 weeks to the mother cat and the kittens will join in. Her guidance is the best way to get them to have a taste.

If you’re feeding a good food, you don’t need to wait until they’re a year old. They can eat “adult” food as soon as they’re weaned. Kittens have no special nutritional requirements that differ from adults - they simply need to take in more calories.

Energy Requirements for Kittens and Adult Cats
Age kcal/lb body wt
Kittens: 10 weeks 113
20 weeks 59
30 weeks 45
40 weeks 36
Adult Cats: Inactive 18
Active 20-30
Pregnant 45
Lactating* 56–145

your cat can have catfood when they are a month old. I gave my cat catfood when it was 7 weeks old. But I didn’t give them the catfood they came to the catfood and started eating it. So maby it would be a good idea to keep the cat food out by the kitten. You should tell your mom that your sister is going on your stuff. Know lets get back to the information. But the cat food you were talking about, you should maby get kitten chow before you get cat food. You should maby put your cat by the cat food or kitten chow so your cat can smell it and try it. Also you sometimes don’t have to teach it because it will whatch its mom eat it. To give you some idvise you should try soft food when my cat was a month old I gave it soft food my cat loved it!.
