You will need a wormer from your vet to kill the worms. I recommend Drontal. You will also need to treat your cat with a flea treatment if your cat has tapeworms. I recommend a Capstar pill to kill the fleas instantly and then Frontline Plus spot on to make sure your cat does not get infested again.
Do NOT use OTC wormers. They are not safe and can kill your cat. Not to mention they don’t work very well. Wormer is a pesticide, so don’t be cheap when buying it. Do what is safe and buy from your vet.

If you find that your cat has worms in his/her poop, then you should take him/her to the vet. When you go to the vet they might prescribe you something to get rid of them. If they are brown and/or white, then they might be round worms. They are not deadly and my vet said that every cat gets them at least once during there lifetime. My 3 kittens got it right when we got them, but they are cured now. Your local vety will probably give you something to get rid of them if they are not to serious.
