My mother is feeding the cat crab meat everyday. Is this ok for a cat’s diet.? Are there any side effects?

You don’t mention whether your cat is getting any other food. Cats need to eat balanced meals everyday, and crab meat alone won’t do it. So if that’s all your mother is feeding it, please ask her to buy some cat food and serve just that.
If she’s offering some as a treat, that’s probably ok, although it should be just a small amount. Too much seafood can be detrimental for cats. I don’t know if crab will have the same effect as fish in general, but if it does, then it’s best to keep it to very small amounts especially if given daily.

Ok, it is ok to feed your cat crab meat. However, I wouldn’t consider crab meat its full diet. What you should do it go to a petstore, and buy a high quality type of food such as Wellness. Crab meat may be a good addition to your cats diet, but she needs a real type of staple food.
