Why does my dog’s fur fall out?

10 Answers  |  Asked By: catluvergirl95   656

Yes, I know this website cats.com is not about dogs, ONLY about cats. But can you just make an exception???!! I really need to know the answer. My dog’s fur falls out when I brush his fur with a normal, gentle bristle brush, except not hard, plastic or rubber bristles, but hairlike furlike bristles, why????

No, it is not comming out in clumps, but some fur is falling out when I brush his fur, quite a bit, but not clumps of hair leaving bare skin. No bare skin. what do I do?

Sounds like he's just shedding. All you can do is keep brushing.

It is normal for it to fall out when you brush it because those hairs are the hair that shed off of your dog when it gets warm. Its normal, dogs loose fur in the summer so they aren’t too hot.

Yes, I think it is just loose hairs that shed off when he is hot, but it is winter.

He’s just shedding, and when you brush him, it collects the fur that has been shed, but was still trapped in his coat.

It is the summer time and my cat does the same thing they are just very hot so they shed. in the winter time it shouldn’t happen so much if you don’t want dog hair all over your house i would take him/her outside and brush the dog.
