if your cat has an ingured tail, most people would recommend to go to a vet. The vet will examine your cat and tell you wat is wrong, and will tell you the medicine and stuff to use. The ingured tail might be a minor problem, like it scrathed its tail to hard, or something bit it, but it might be more serious like a sprain, or a broken tail. So, to my point, i say go to a vet.
Hope a helped:)

how is it injured?, if you slammed it in a door, you should go to your vet, but if theirs hair missing, or a little cut or somtphing, put somtphing on it to sooth it, and make it as sterile as possible.

If your cat becomes injured in any way,it is very important to take him to your local vetrinary clinic. They’ll tell you how to treat the wound/sickness correctly, and give you the proper medication if needed
