When cats are spayed, it is a matter of surgery. And after the surgery, the cut skin is sewed or stapled back together. Staples and sutures can be irritating to the skin and some cats will try to use their mouth to work it out. If I were a vet I would not use staples, and the sutures would be the kind that dissolve. One of my cats worried at her stitches until she managed to get them out, and of course it was red in that area. If your cat worked a staple out or managed to remove stitches, it probably would bleed a slight amount, but nothing to worry about. And the redness would just be an indication of the irritation that was being caused.

If it looks like the stiches are compromised then call your vet.

When my cat was spayed, she had torn out several of her stitches within a few hours of waking up from the anesthesia (before I came to pick her up). Because of that, they re-sutured with staples, which she proceeded to tear out. The solution was to keep her in an Elizabethan collar - one of those big plastic collars that keeps them from being able to bite/lick/chew on their wounds. Examine the area to ensure that all of the sutures are still in place. If she continues to behave in a manner that irritates the incision site, I would take her back to the vet to get re-sutured or to purchase a collar. I assume she's on an antibiotic as she's healing? That would be another point of concern if she's biting at the wound - infection. Keep an eye on it!

if it happened near her stitches, a stich probubly got stuck on a blanket when she was jumping around. its nothing bad all you wana do is clean of the blood and make sure theres no real damage.
