The shameful part about declawing is that many vets don’t give owners the correct information about the procedure. In truth, the claws aren’t the only part removed from the cat’s foot. The first digits (imagine our first knuckle being removed) are removed. It’s a painful and unnecessary procedure.

It makes much more sense to train your animal using firm words and a water-filled squirt bottle. Declawing often causes behaviorial changes such as urinating outside the cat box, biting and aggressive behavior. So many cats end up at shelters because their behavior after declawing is too much for their owners to stand. Imagine having to scratch in the litter missing the front part of your foot? It’s not a pretty picture.

Softpaws are an alternative to inhumane declawing. The little colored nail caps make it look like kitty has painted nails. Softpaws are safe, non-toxic, and easy to apply. Simply trim the nails, fill nail cap 1/3 with adhesive, put on the claw, and hold in place for a few moments. Most cats don’t mind them.

I had a cat and we tried everything to stop her from clawing the furniture. We tried soft paws(a plastic cover to put on your cats claws, but she pulled them off with her teeth), a special furniture tape(you put it where you don’t want your cat to scratch, but it stuck to our clothes and came off). We didn’t want to keep scolding her because we thought it was mean, so we declawed her and after she healed she was much happier because she only got yelled at when she bit us.

None of my cats are declawed, and I would never dream of it. It is so cruel and inhumane. People who declaw care more about thier furniture then they do their cats!!

thats pure animal cruelty.imagine your parents taking you to a doctor to have your fingernails taken out.that can also be harmful because if he unsuspectedly gets out of the house one day it will need to depend on its claw for food and for its defense. if thier was a was a way i would unclaw that poor cat.SSHHAAMMEE OONN YYOOUU..
